Electrostatic charge can influence Analog and Digital communications by increasing the signal to noise ratio through a decrease in background noise.
BTC Electronics now offers connectors that reduce signal noise induced by electrostatic charges. Originally used in medical imaging equipment, in particular CT scanners; the conductive outer shells have a surface resistance of less than 103 ohms-square and prevent electrostatic charge buildup. They are manufactured using insert molded construction for high reliability and are RoHS compliant. Applications include CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, MRI and any sensitive analog equipment.
