Connectors

BTC stocks a multi-million dollar inventory of connectors: military connectors, aerospace connectors, aircraft connectors, medical and industrial connectors.  We have the ability to build over 750,000 connectors from stock.  BTC has the largest stock of hermetically sealed connectors available and can assist you in locating hard to find connectors.  We can match national stock numbers (nsn) and provide crosses for over 3,000,000 parts.

We specialize in electrical connectors and interconnect products. With over 28 years of industry experience we have the product knowledge to help you find the right connector for your specific application. Download our full 2008 line card.

Aerospace Connectors

Hermetically sealed, weatherproof and weather-resistant connectors that meet the requirements for harsh environment applications and require a high degree of engineering sophistication and precision manufacturing capability.

Circular Connectors

Circular connectors are used primarily for external interfacing. Typical applications include measuring equipment, industrial sensors, industrial equipment and machines, computers and peripherals, medical equipment, and audio and video equipment. A connector will either be male type (with pins) or female type (with sockets).  A male connector includes pins that plug into a socket or similar receptacle.  A female connector consists of sockets that are aligned to mesh with a pin-type connector.

Coaxial Connectors

A coaxial connector is composed of an insulated central conducting wire wrapped in another cylindrical conductor (the shield). The cable is usually wrapped in another insulating layer and an outer protective layer. Coaxial cables and connectors have the capacity to carry vast quantities of information.

D-sub Connectors

D-subminiature or D-sub connectors are sturdy electrical connectors with a mating face shaped like the letter D. They provide polarization because male and female connectors can fit together in only one way. Male connectors plug into receptacles, jacks, and outlets. Female connectors contain sockets for pins from other devices. The number of pins or sockets in D-subminiature connectors corresponds to the number of wires in the cable. To accommodate different arrangements of pins, D-sub  connectors are available in five standard shell sizes: DA, DB, DC, DD, and DE. The contact pitch or distance between pins ranges from as small as 0.0197'' or 0.5 mm to as large as 0.20” or 5.08 mm. High-density and double-density pin arrangements are commonly available.

Feed Throughs

A connector or terminal block, usually having double-ended terminals that permit simple distribution and bussing of electrical circuits.

Glass to Metal Seals

Glass-to-metal seals provide a way to hermetically pass an electrical conductor from one environment to another. The glass, as well as providing the seal, acts as an insulator between the pins and the housing.

Heat Shrink/Molded Shrinkable Products

Tubes, sleeves, caps, boots, film or other forms of plastic which shrink when heat is applied to encapsulate, protect or insulate connections.

Hermetically Sealed Connectors

Hermetic seals provide a vacuum or leak-tight seal, insulate or channel electricity, and prevent the ingress of contaminants. They are made of ceramic, glass, or metal materials and joined in a specific configuration by furnace brazing. Common types of hermetic seals include metal-to-metal seals, ceramic-to-metal seals, and glass-to-metal-seals. Download BTC's Hermetics flyer.

Microwave/RF Connectors

A microwave or radio frequency (RF) connector is used to connect the ends of cables in systems that operate in the RF or microwave spectrum. They include threaded or bayonet-style couplings that snap, screw, or push into place.  Examples are BNC, TNC, both of which are used in cable assemblies, instrumentation, and mil/aero applications.

Mil-Spec Connectors

Military connectors (Mil spec connectors) offer superior performance and reliability characteristics. Designed to work in extreme environmental conditions, these connectors are used throughout the Defense industry (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines). The Aerospace industry also rely on these mil spec connectors for their mission-critical applications. They are also used in a variety of commercial tasks.

Printed Circuit Board Connectors

BTC offers DOD-C-55302 QPLD connectors to provide applications flexibility not available in other connectors. PCB connectors are suitable for mil/aero, industrial, space, medical, test equipment and marine applications. Over 2,500 models can be constructed with available components. Straight dip, right angle solder, crimp, solder cup, or wire wrap terminations. Front release, rear removable or front release front removable options. Male or female contacts available in either plug or receptacle. Computer-guided tin-dipping service available upon request.

Rack & Panel

Connects the inside back end of the cabinet (rack) with the drawer containing the equipment when it is fully inserted.  Special design and rugged construction of the connector allow for variation in rack-to-panel alignment.
